BIS warns of Great Depression dangers from credit spree


The Bank for International Settlements, the world’s most prestigious financial body, has warned that years of loose monetary policy has fuelled a dangerous credit bubble, leaving the global economy more vulnerable to another 1930s-style slump than generally understood.

SHENZHEN, China’s first special economic zone which neighbors Hong Kong, now has the country’s highest housing prices.
It was reported the average housing price of the city has reached 14,223 yuan (US$1,850) a square meter while the average price in the city’s four major districts has surpassed 20,000 yuan.
